The Inspection Standards & Data for Vouchers (ISDV) Division’s mission is to ensure that federally-assisted families reside in housing that is decent, safe, and sanitary. The ISDV Division collects and analyzes inspection data and provides consultation services on housing quality best practices. ISDV implements the Uniform Physical Condition Standards for Vouchers (UPCS-V) Demonstration Program, which is an improved inspection standard for HUD’s HCV (Housing Choice Voucher) units that aims to:

• Maintain a culture of transparency and collaboration with PHAs and other key stakeholders
• Develop innovative ways to streamline inspection processes for inspectors that are accurate, consistent and objective
• Enhance owners and tenants access to detailed information about their home.
